The idea of Solar Dividends originated with Robert Stayton in his book Solar Dividends: How Solar Energy Can Generate a Basic Income for Everyone on Earth, published in 2019.
He has teamed up with The Sustainable Systems Research Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit green think tank and eco-project incubator in the Monterey Bay Area and Central Coast of California.
The team is pursuing multiple paths to bring about the first basic income programs funded by solar energy
Contacting existing basic income pilot programs around the country to develop permanent funding sources to extend the programs that are set to expire when the pilot programs end.
Develop local projects in cooperation with nonprofits and governments.
Lobby the California legislature to enact supporting legislation and funding.
